Grace’s story began with the loss of her mother, who had been her sole caregiver. Her mother, despite facing her own struggles, had been devoted to meeting Grace’s needs, including essential physiotherapy sessions and assistive devices. However, her untimely passing left a void in Grace’s life, and the responsibility for her care fell upon her nearby uncle, who was often absent. Recognizing the challenges faced by Grace and the absence of a stable support system, local authorities intervened and sought temporary residency for her in our organization. Her situation prompted significant concern within the community, as her well-being was at risk due to the lack of consistent care and access to necessary therapies.

PROGRAMS INVOLVED IN:
Within our organization, Grace is actively engaged in a range of programs designed to address her unique needs. She participates in regular physiotherapy sessions aimed at addressing a stiff hip joint that had severely limited her mobility, making it difficult for her to use a special wheelchair. Additionally, Grace benefits from occupational therapy and engages in various social activities that contribute to her holistic development. To manage her health effectively, she is prescribed daily medication to reduce convulsions, a condition she faces.
Since her admission, Grace has shown remarkable improvements, particularly in response to the physiotherapy sessions. However, our goal is to rehabilitate her further, enabling her to transition from prolonged periods of lying down to being able to sit comfortably. To achieve this, we are considering orthopedic interventions and the possibility of a corrective surgery, all with the aim of enhancing her quality of life.
